This map only depicts percentages with the response "French", as US Census responses show "responses with one or more ancestry". Statistics Canada percentages shown here depict the "French" ancestry response for its own census as well, as even the response "Quebecois" has only hundreds of responses in the 8 million population (2016) of Quebec.
